What drew you to archeology rather than just engaging with the text like you did in your first book?

The, uh, you know, uh, I'm gonna, uh, share an embarrassing story.

There, there are multiple things that actually draw me to archeology, but really probably what the impetus was for this was, uh, one of the most embarrassing questions I had ever been asked.

And it was just after Ephesiology came out, and I was on a podcast with a friend of mine who you would know, and I write about him in the book, um, uh, because he asked me the question, "Have you ever been to Ephesus?" And at that point, I had not been to Ephesus.

And, um, and, and I was rather embarrassed about that 'cause I wrote a book about the church in Ephesus without having even visited the ancient city.

I mean, your book's quite up to date on the archeology.
