So American exceptionalism.

I think one of the things that's always struck me the most about America just as a culture and around its founding is the focus on freedom.

Now, I think we often make the mistake of thinking of freedom as an absolute concept, that you're free, you do whatever you want.

But historically, freedom has not really produced good in people.

You could argue that the fall in the Garden of Eden was mankind seeking freedom absolutely to do whatever they wanted, and that resulted in complete destruction.
