you can't facelift a retro is is is is the it's really coming back to it's all it very very very rarely works very well yeah

that's it it's like where do you go i suppose the same thing with in a way um when mg like when they did the mgf and they were sort of wrestling with how retro it should be and actually the inspiration for the nose of that car was more drawn from the rubber bumper mgb than from the sort of trad chrome bumper ones But at the time that the MGF came out, you know, the rubber bumper bees were like the sort of meh versions.

And, you know, if you're sort of already basing it on a late model, what do you do then? And I don't think the MGF was particularly retro, but it had sort of nods to the past.
