Metroid Fusion

Like I associate LocoRoco with the PSP.

I know it's been released elsewhere since, but like it's one of those titles in the same way that I associate Nightmare in Dreamland with the Game Boy Advance or Metroid Fusion with the Game Boy Advance.

It's core to the PSP experience and for me, easily my favorite game on the system.

I, before I get to my favorite, would want to shout out a couple of other titles that are on the PSP.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for Switch 2 OLED.

Metroid Fusion.

Oh, I can't read that one yet.

We are unlocking a never before heard... of of gooey plays Metroid and in fact this is gooey plays super Metroid part one we just finished the series at at the time of this recording the about a couple about a week ago at this point we just finished recording the very last episode of gooey plays super metroid and this season is now done and we are going to be of course moving on to gooey plays metroid fusion next which is a game that goo has obviously never played before um this Super Metroid is a little bit unique, as you'll listen to in the episode.

GUI has played it, but a long time ago and without the other context that the first two Metroid games provide.

like a game that's a little bit more of a bite-sized experience now as an adult So recently, I just played Metroid Fusion on my Switch Aruba.

I will say I have some gripes with Metroid Fusion because there are several moments in the game where it's totally unclear what you're supposed to do.

So I texted him, what Game Boy Advance bullshit are you playing right now at 9.11 p.m.? He responds, I booted up Metroid Zero Mission, one of my top 100 games.

Then quickly realized I've never played it, and I meant to write Metroid Fusion.

That's amazing.

That's awesome, man.

It was, it was a bit of a flop objectively.

Shout out to Metroid Fusion.

Um, but yeah, you know what's interesting and, and, and my thought is, like, oddly, and it is a bit different, but when I saw Metroid Dread, I was like, "Yes, yes, yes." You know? I don't know what it was about that sort of anime meets, you know, Super Metroid style, but I was like, it's more Metroid Fusion maybe.

But, um, but either way, I was like, "Put it in my veins.

I love the way that it looks."

... dude, listen, if you like Dread, I would highly recommend you play Metroid Fusion.

Um, so over on Patreon, uh, Gooey and I just completed season three of Gooey Plays Super Metroid, and, uh, and he had played this before but once long ago and felt the context of the first two games.

Now we're going into Metroid Fusion next, uh, which is really, really exciting.

So we did kind of like a boss ranking.

We did, um, a, a lot of just kind of, like, retrospective on Super Metroid and, and what that kinda means for, for this genre.

And it won game of the year over GTA as well.

Um, and so, you know, 2004 you get, grant it to not as much success, but you get Metroid Prime 2, which was a really solid game.

Um, like a, a really quality entry into the series and then you, you just, you know, ditto Metroid Fusion came out when, when Metroid Prime did.
