Meteora

Is that like mountainside where they're climbing the cliff, that like retreat up at the top of the mountain, is that a real place that you guys can go? Yeah,

that's in Meteora, Greece.

If you come early to Athens, you can take a side trip and go to these fabulous monasteries.

They built two dozen monasteries on these cliffs, a thousand feet above the surround, six of them are active monasteries, and the Holy Trinity Monastery is where they filmed Fear Eyes Only at the base of the cliff and up on the sides where Bond is climbing.

But the reason why I was fascinated was it began monasticism in the second, third century.

And Meteora in Greece, which is phenomenal.

I mean, I don't know if anybody who loves to travel, they must go to Meteora in northern Greece because you've never seen a rock formation like these and sitting on top of these humongous monolithic rocks.

are these monasteries that the monks built because it kind of, like when the Nazis came, you know, the monks pushed them over the cliff because they heard there were a lot of treasures up there.

So when I took the journey and I went to Sinai Desert and went to St. Catherine's Monastery, I read that in a newspaper about people climbing Sinai.

I had a hike.

I was in Meteora, and I'll get back to my second tangent, then I'll get back to my story.

In Meteora, so this is where we climbed into these pillars that just popped out.

It is so beautiful.

I wanted to do a hike the next day.
