Mess

Hmm.

So then you thought, "Well, we really need a museum, don't we? It's gotta be a museum." So, uh, we were able to fortunately buy, uh, the former Sergeants Mess at RAF Hemswell, and that was, uh, the big step forward.

And we thought that BECG was such a mouthful, we better rename it what it really is, which is the Broadcast Engineering Museum.

And we've continued to go from strength to strength over the last five years in which we've had it.

He was also a continuity, um, announcer on Southern, but he's also, putting this a bit locally, was also in The Dam Busters.

That's an interesting connection, uh, because, um, our m-museum building is on the former RAF Hemswell.

Uh, and it, it houses the Sergeants' Mess, and, uh, The Dam Busters, of course, was largely shot at, uh, RAF Hemswell 'cause RAF Scampton was a bit busy at the time, having a Cold War.

Um, so a large amount of the film was shot, was shot, um, at RAF Hemswell, um, and the Officers' Mess, um, was the stand-in for RAF Scampton.

Well, you know what? The first place that sort of did this that I noticed was Mess Hall on Los Feliz Boulevard.

So that's not like expensive, but it's more than it maybe should be.
