So we have a system linked, leaking Atlanta all the way to Knoxville.

First, we did Meshtastic, and then we went to MeshCore.

think KM4AKK has talked about that system.

We can get some range in quite a hurry.

But I will tell you, Meshtastic for ATAC is not your friend.

MeshCore for ATAC is a winning combination.

Okay, so I don't want to get into a deep dive on this right now because it's not what this video is about.

Today I'm on the roof of my house, and we're going to deploy a Meshcore node, yet another Meshcore node, in Grapevine where the network is growing and really starting to come alive.

My name's Jason and we're talking about off-grid communications, and today we're talking about Meshcore, which has been growing in the Grapevine area.

I am going to deploy this node on my rooftop today.

This is the Elecrow M6 solar node.

Now, this has been running in my house.

I've been having it sit in my, the front window of my bedroom, which is upstairs, and, uh, it's been up there for, I don't know, three or four weeks, something like that.

As soon as I flashed it with Meshcore, I got messages in the group, our Meshcore public chat that we talk in just about every day, and one of the guys pinged me and he's like, "Hey man, I just found your repeater." And he knew it was mine because the name of this repeater is KC5HWB Repeater 1.

Monday, the 12th of October.

Details will appear on our website next week, but the hint is that we're focusing on some new tech in the form of off-grid messaging services, MeshCore and Meshtastic, both underpinned by Laura.

And generally, and it's on the charger right now, but generally this will stick to the back of the phone.

Once I get my solar node up on the top of the house, I'm betting that I'll be able to hit it a lot better then.

But today, we're going to drive around, we're going to see what kind of, and we're going to do some repeater discovery.

There's an option inside the MeshCore app where you can discover repeaters, and I guess it sends some sort of ping or pulse out to specific repeaters or nodes with repeater flashed firmware, and the repeaters answer them, even if the repeaters are not currently advertising their information.

So we're going to do a little bit of that today because this mobile repeater they have in the truck right now, which is just sitting in the dashboard in the windshield, it's not permanent, obviously.

So I'm going to welcome comments and questions about this setup and about Meshtastic, MeshCore.

What is Meshcore? What's the difference between Meshcore and Meshtastic? We're not going to really talk about that tonight.

I've got a couple of videos that do talk about that, but we're not really going to mess with that tonight.

The second thing is, now some of you might not like Facebook, and that's okay.

I've got a new Facebook page called Off-Grid Adventures that we're going to be focusing on camping and overlanding and incorporating ham radio, GMRS radio, CB radio, Meshtastic and Meshcore into all of this kind of combined.

Mesh network, mostly in Germany or German speaking region.

But you got to be specific because most people are going to associate every time you're saying mesh network with like MeshTastic or MeshCore.

You're talking about a mesh integrated full internet network where you got megabits of speed anywhere you're going for free.

Yes, and with Wi-Fi, and you can run this on a regular customer-grade router.

Like, how, how would we cope without this for a while?

Yeah, and you know, I, I'm, you know, the Meshtastic and Meshcore and all these communities are interesting because, you know, it's people just kind of playing around, you know, saying, "You know, I can buy this cheap gadget off of wherever and, and start dabbling and say hello to, like...

I mean, I can reach people in New Hampshire, it seems, from here, from Boston." And that kind of makes me feel good-
