And then there are also other transports that people have been working on, such as MeshCore or Meshtastic, where you have LoRa devices that can go up to kilometers between the hops.

where you you need um kind of eye of sight like a direct line of sight uh connection between the two but you can think of you know having that there are very small devices uh like smaller than a phone that you could put on your balcony and then someone hundreds of meters away maybe a kilometer away also has one on their balcony and they can communicate So using other transports, BitChat can increase the range between how far people can be apart from each other to communicate.

Meshcore certainly works that way.

If you add an all-star node connection to your local dead repeater and connect to some of the more – active networks.

I've got one, but there's hundreds of them out there.

The trick here is to do a bit of maths and match the transmitter to the power source.

If you're using a button cell, then maybe a LoRa device and running MeshCore would keep you on air for a while.

If you're using something from the car, maybe run a heavy transceiver on high power.

Whatever you do do, the aim is to have a bit of fun.

I love the idea of federation, of servers and clients and everything else.
