Meridian Community College

We are finally caught up when it comes to games played with all 12 teams now having eight conference matches under their belts.

Northwest visited Mississippi Gulf Coast and Colin traveled to Meridian.

So we'll kind of look at the ladies right now.

Northwest women took their momentum down to Perk, handing Mississippi Gulf Coast a 5-0 defeat on home turf.

taking that to 5-0.

Lydia Knapp credited with a clean sheet, and that win takes Northwest to 5-3 and Mississippi Gulf Coast to 6-2.

Meridian took care of business over Colen, winning 2-0 to position the Eagles quite nicely, to be quite honest, for the final stretch.

First half finished scoreless.

We've got three matches to go until the culmination of conference play, except for two matches that have kind of got to play catch up.

Mississippi Gulf Coast and Northwest will make up a postponed match this Friday, October the 16th, as well as Colen and Meridian.

They're making up a weather-delayed match also on October the 16th.

So let's get into the action from this past Tuesday, the 13th, starting with the women.

Mississippi Gulf Coast moves to 6-1 on the season.

Southwest is sitting at 1-7.

I mentioned last episode that Meridian's women had some momentum and that the Northwest women were tasked with showing the Eagles what happens to invaders that come onto their own turf.

Well, that exact thing happened.

Yeah.

It's, you know, Coach Denson's a guy who, I don't know if you remember this, Coach, when I was at Meridian, we used to scoop you up in Jackson for some Meridian Community College fall league baseball games, and you'd ride with us.

Coach Federico was pitching coach ...

Uh, no, I'm sorry.

Let's focus on policymaking that is proven to improve things here.

It's a bit quieter in the McCain Theater at Meridian Community College, where about 40 people have come to listen to fellow Mississippians speak in front of legislators.

At both hearings, Black residents outnumbered their white counterparts, and most speakers were staunchly against redistricting.

But Tamara Ward says she believes the map should be fair and equal regardless of race.
