Meriden

One gone, and the Red Sox put the ball around.

Gary Waslewski, who was born in Meridian, Connecticut, Now lives in Kensington, Connecticut.

Attended the University of Connecticut for a year.

Originally signed with the Pittsburgh organization.

And on October 10th, we have the North Star Radio Convention, hosting the ARRL Dakota Division Convention in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Two hamfests on October 11th, the Nutmeg Hamfest, hosting the ARRL Connecticut State Convention in Meriden, Connecticut, and Hamfest, hosting the ARRL Southern New Jersey Section Convention in Mullica Hill, New Jersey.

October 16th through 18th features Pacificon, hosting the ARRL Pacific Division Convention in San Ramon, California.

October 24th is the ARRL Day in the Park, hosting the ARRL Mississippi Section Convention in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

He's 24.

He's from Meriden, Connecticut, and played at Cortland State and then coached at Cortland State with Joe Brown, who I know very well.

And unbelievable coach at Cortland State.

And so we brought him on as well.

Yeah.

He went to Meriden, Connecticut, which is actually funny because that's, I think, going to be the new location of Vinegar Syndrome.

He was at WMBB in Meriden.

Eventually, he transitioned into advertising.

He became the director of the radio and television department at several different advertising agencies.

Um, many years ago, I, uh, I joined a, a, um, a ghost hunting team by the name of G.H.O.N.E.R.S., Ghosts of New England Research Society.

And, uh, I had a client by the name of Lynn, who owned Writers on Main in Meriden, Connecticut.

And Meriden, um, well, all of New England can be very haunted.

But Meriden in particular I found to have many haunted locations.

And, uh, Lynn and her husband Jason bought a old bar by the name of Morrie's, and they renamed it Writers on Main.

And the reason why Lynn came to me, um, to talk to me about what was happening there is that because all their shot glasses started going missing.

Okay.

Yes, I played a lot of racquetball there and went to that gym, drove down from Meriden.

It was fun.

Yes, we had a standing racquetball game at night there for about six, seven months.

I only went to that in a small scale when they closed Meriden.

But there was a lot of stuff there that Atlanta didn't want.

So most often you'll see a 403B when someone works for a school system or a hospital.

And then you get into 457s, which is actually my father's retired from the city of Meriden.

A 457 is you work for a municipality.

So focusing on the teachers, we've got a 403B.

This is a great conversation to have because it has changed for the better recently.

So this used to be a Hogarth family discussion is the fact that my parents both worked when I was growing up.

My mom is a teacher, my dad for the city of Meriden.

My dad on the day-to-day was the director of senior affairs.
