Mephisto

Stan Lee's classic Bring on the Bad Guys is getting a reprint for its 50th anniversary.

Per 13th Dimension, the 256-trade paperback collects origin stories for Doctor Doom, Dormammu, Loki, the Red Skull, Green Goblin, Abomination, and Mephisto, as well as some ancillary material by Lee.

It also shouldn't be confused with Bring on the Bad Guys, a collection of news stories that was published earlier this year celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bring on the Bad Guys.

Comics, so easy to understand.

It become too big

... and everything to Mephisto so that Aunt May wouldn't die, and now we're 40 years later, and Aunt May is in, had a stroke in 999, and I was like, "You are the worst fucking writers of all time."

Like, that's what you guys did with ASM 1000.

that is what he did in the comics though except it was slightly different where it was um because it was that the whole thing that everyone gets upset about with the comics is the the whole like spider-man making a deal with mephisto to make everyone forget his identity after um civil

war yeah

but the everyone mixes that up in like a few different ways where it's like peter wasn't the one that accepted the deal mary jane was And part of her bargain with that deal was that if they accepted it, Mephisto could never directly interfere in their lives again.

So then I think it was 40 issues after that, they put out a four-issue story arc called One Moment in Time that kind of like capped off how the Mephisto duel worked.

And so basically on the day that they were supposed to get married and they like redid a bunch of the panels from like the annual where they had like the original wedding in there.

But basically Mephisto shows up as like a pigeon or something And let's one of Electro's henchmen out of the back of this police car after Spider-Man stops them from robbing a bank.

That guy gets the jump on Spider-Man later and somehow hits him in the back of the head with the bricks.

So he's knocked out and he misses his wedding.

know that's that's fine yeah i don't know he's he's like vaguely interesting to me but not enough for me to buy him if i'm gonna play an I can play everybody affiliation leader.

I'm going to play Mephistos.

... it's like, uh, Peter's deal with Mephisto.

If you take the Defenders, you have to take Danny with them.

I don't want that version of Danny.

He just had the, the, um, [clears throat] his, uh, charger come in, grab her with the chains, and, and haul her off.

Battlefield removal, right? Um, he's fought multiversal, uh, he's fought a multiversal army of Mephistos, right? So these are god-level, uh, uh, opponents.

Um, recently, he fought Doom Supreme, and that is not Doctor Doom with sour cream.

This is actually Doctor Doom who's become the Sorcerer Supreme and has conquered his own universe, then he's traveled to other realities, defeating gods, cosmic heroes, and ultimately, uh, uh, taking over those universes.
