So he went to Miami.

overheard somebody selling a thing to press records like a disc recording machine he bought it went back to kingston and in 1947 he set up a voice recording service that then developed into recording bands with like one microphone and so on and it kind of went from there so he set up he had been getting records pressed in the u.s but then he set up a pressing plant in the early 1950s initially he was pressing american records Then Mento and Calypso, and then Jamaican music.

So he was, I guess, historically, that would be a big name, widely known as sort of a pioneer of this kind of stuff.

And some of the records he put out a little later on were key to the development of rocksteady as a style.

It went right the way back through Mento, Calypso, and right the way through the whole story.

And then I was finding I had access to promoting some of these legends of the music who were part of each wave of each step of the story of Jamaican music.
