And I was like, yeah, it does.
ChrisGUEST
31:32
So this song to me sounds like a band called Men I Trust.
ChrisGUEST
31:37
I feel like they're from Montreal, but they have this front woman, Emma.
ChrisGUEST
31:41
I don't know her last name, but she's got like this very dreamy sort of vocal, very shoegazy sort of like, I don't know if that's a reverb that's kind of on the voice here.
JoshHOST
31:51
Yeah.
JoshHOST
31:51
Yeah, I wasn't sure either if it was a reverb or if she had double-tracked it somehow.
ChrisGUEST
31:56
Yeah, so, like, check out, like, Men I Trust, like, Tail Whip or Nom or Show Me How.

Men I
LachlanGUEST

It changes so rapidly.
EllaGUEST
5:32
It will be someone for a while and then it will move to someone else.
EllaGUEST
5:35
But I think Men I Trust is probably someone we've always taken inspiration from.
EllaGUEST
5:40
For me,
Eoghan O'SullivanHOST

Did you see much else at Electric Picnic on the Friday when you were, when you were there?
Sarah CreanGUEST
4:45
Yeah, I did head over to Men I Trust.
Sarah CreanGUEST
4:48
They were in the tent right next to us, and that, they're like my, my ultimates.
Sarah CreanGUEST
4:52
They're pretty big in my, in my books, and I heard like the first song, and I just started running across, and it was, it was pretty cool.
Corey ColemanHOST
29:23
No, I'm, man, I'm into more, like, stuff that reminds me a lot of, uh, uh, uh, that's kind of reminiscent of neo-soul or, uh, I'm into, like, indie artists.
Corey ColemanHOST
29:33
Like, you, you've heard me talk about Man I Trust, to which, you know, I have a whole station dedicated to them and a few other artists that I...
Corey ColemanHOST
29:38
Like, that's where my new music comes from.
Corey ColemanHOST
29:40
Hip hop, probably not as much these days, which is crazy because in the '90s and early 2000s, and of course '80s, I was crazy into hip hop.
Margaux SauvéGUEST
21:17
but i feel like the more i was studying and the more i was kind of giving myself to that into that that life that I was going I was imagining I was studying psychology so I was very much imagining myself become a psychologist and do therapy with clients and the more I was kind of diving into that future life the more the creativity part and some things had to come out and that's how I started to write songs and at some point I I had a few written and I approached a friend of a friend with whom we started doing Ghostly Kisses.
Margaux SauvéGUEST
22:19
So I first started to work with Dragos Chiriac, who's actually in the band Man I Trust.
Margaux SauvéGUEST
22:25
I don't know if you know.
Margaux SauvéGUEST
22:28
And then that's how Ghostly Kisses started.

Margaux SauvéGUEST

In my situation, it came to a point where there was nothing more I could do.
Margaux SauvéGUEST
41:59
And so, yeah, I chose myself and... and um but yeah it's not I don't know about other people sorry like every everyone is is different and some people might have made a different choice um and I you know I respect I respect that so it's just I'm really just speaking for my own situation or my own relationship so
Danielle RichardsonHOST
42:26
yeah you know this might be a an odd question but i think about the title of your band like ghostly kisses which almost it almost resonates like a love that you and and this is not to read into it and to say this is why your band is named this it's just when i think of ghostly kisses i think of like a comfort that is elusive, but it's present, but it doesn't really have a name.
Danielle RichardsonHOST
42:59
And I don't know, in my own journey, walking with difficult relationships, especially when it comes to family, there have felt like times when I have needed to learn how to comfort myself.
