Memphis Police Department

Okay, WREG.com. Quote, a woman is facing a slew of charges in a swatting-like incident involving her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend, police say.

The Memphis Police Department said on September 5th, between 1230 and 955 a.m., dispatchers received several calls from a woman later identified as Dakiria Gardner, who said her boyfriend had beaten and stabbed her at her Parkway Village apartment.

Police said Gardner identified herself as the woman dating her ex-boyfriend, gave them the woman's address, and named her ex-boyfriend as the attacker.

Oh! Memphis police said when they arrived, a woman who appeared to have woken up from her sleep answered the door and said no one from the residence had called police.

This is the Nutrition Bar, Poplar and Perkins.

According to Memphis Police, at 11:22 AM, officers responded to a one-vehicle crash, and that one vehicle crashed right into the Nutrition Bar.

No injuries reported.

That's, that's good, but the business was heavily damaged.

All right.

So, uh, we're gonna be playing this interview with the vice president of the Memphis Police Association.

I did this interview because, and this article, I think it's gonna be coming out today on The Real News Network.

I was invited because I am, uh, the president of a labor federation, the, uh, Labor Council in North Alabama, and the International Union of Police Associations is a u- a police union, the only law enforcement union that is affiliated with the AFL-CIO.

Uh, it would be interesting to go to [chuckles] a cop union convention in Vegas, and so I did, and I wrote about it with Hamilton Nolan.

I brought him along with me as my plus one, and, uh, that article's gonna be coming out soon at The Real News Network, maybe today or Monday.

After the convention, I reached out to some of the people that I ran into c- at convention and, and followed up with some folks, and one of those people was the, the Memphis Police Association folks.

And I wanted to talk to them in particular because I heard some interesting things about the Memphis Police Association from unionists in Memphis.

All were runaways from Mississippi and Louisiana.

A sergeant with the Memphis Police Department stood in front of Storm.

"While we appreciate your help with finding and freeing these young ladies, what the hell were you doing in there?" "Following a tip." He showed the officer his St.

Louis County Deputy Sheriff ID.

Finally, he shook his head.

"Probably the same thing.

What can I do to help?" "Authorize me to be on loan to the Memphis Police Department." "Do you plan to come back?" "I plan to, but..." "You're a good officer, Storm.

I'd hate to lose you." "If I don't help stop these guys, they'll eventually succeed in shutting me up, so you'd be assisting my return to St.

I want to thank every member of federal law enforcement who has helped with this task force in Memphis.

I want to thank the Memphis Police Department.

I want to thank the mayor, the governor.

I want to thank the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
