There's this really funny sketch.

And in that, the producer of the show, Mel Cooley, is being taken out by Dick Van Dyke and his colleagues, the writers, to lift his spirits after he had a really tough work situation.

And one of the other writers is known for always making cracks at Mel and kind of putting him down with jokes and stuff like that.

And every time he started to say something, one of his other colleagues, Sally, would shove a piece of bread in his mouth so he wouldn't say something rude to Mel.
