Media Play

One of the coolest things about Street Fighter, and you saw it, soundtrack.

I went to a place called Media Play in Marietta, Georgia, and with my lawnmower money, I bought the soundtrack for Forrest Gump.

I didn't know CCR.

I didn't know Dylan.

... 2004 or '5.

I was working at Media Play in Saginaw, of all places-

Really?

...

Mm.

And I went up to, they called it Media Play and it was like a video game, or video-

I remember Media Play

...

Media Play.

Yeah.

Okay.

... getting cassingles.

Uh, uh, Media Play, I think, uh, I forget who we had on that worked at, uh, Media Play at one point.

Yeah.

Maybe that was Dan and Ian, but yeah, somebody worked at Media Play.

Right.

And that was, like, the place where you go and, like, you can put the headphones on and, like-

And the biggest chain back then was Musicland.

It was a Sam Goody, On Cue, Media Play.

They were all the same umbrella.

And they had about 1,200 stores.

I used to work at a, um, never, not a Best Buy exactly.

We used to have these stores called Media Play that would sell DVDs and books and things.

So, uh, I d- you know, I'm familiar with the kind of place that, that you're in.

What made you wanna open up a, a store for physical media?
