Mechanical watch

For all this time, we prided ourselves on precision, on being absolutely correct, on craftsmanship, on perfect internal gears, everything in working order.

But in 2025, the market stopped buying mechanical watches and started demanding smartwatches.

That's what it feels like here, that we're still in the analog phase with our watchmaking, and the shock for many people that came on camera was realizing that being the best watchmaker in the world doesn't matter if the market's moved to a completely different kind of watch, a different operating system.

So you can keep polishing the old gears, and some people might still buy the old classic cars or the old watches, but better to start learning how to build the software that the accounting future actually runs on, to build the systems and the culture and the kind of firms that are gonna work in the new world.
