Meccano

So, you know, I was helping sell as well.

We had a really complex set of Meccano that could be assembled in many different ways to do many different outcomes.

And so I almost can't imagine this idea that you're a service centre of doing demos because that was nothing like what what we what we ever did because it was highly complex highly customized i always felt like a real business partner with the sales teams and the sales leaders that i was working with like they would not achieve it without us and we would not achieve it without them and it was a real partnership so when you're talking about some of those things i'm like does that really happen in this world

I'm afraid it does.

I wasn't 10 when I first started using drugs.

Bombing it down steep hills in me old Meccano go-kart with no brakes was enough for a buzz back then.

I didn't supply heroin by the ton.

I sold little plastic bags full of it from a dodgy sublet flat.

Like, it was just this ugly, like, it had a head with some detail on.

The rest, the, like, unfinished Meccano parts and then a terrible gun.

Like, it was-

Cost somebody 10 grand.

But the power of 3D printing, you damn well can make one.

signed vick a mechano kid it's funny the context was lego as a prototyping material because the submitter didn't have his 3d printer with him and so it was like you know i don't have my 3d printer i can't make arbitrary shapes but lego makes arbitrary shapes and was having super good time prototyping with lego and then of course we spun off to oh my god all the lego parts you can print and And Jenny spun off to like Meccano and Fisher Technic and other sorts of things.

This kind of ties it all together.

I've actually printed some of the forbidden Lego pieces.

It's basically tinfoil.

And I used to build Meccano that seemed to be stronger than that.

And yet now, you know, we have influencers going into quote-unquote space.

I mean, how much, I mean, the whole Gen X thing and sending, I don't know, blasting Katy Perry into space, unfortunately with a return ticket.

Yeah.

Three Meccano square cards, which are normally super hard to get, but there was a Chirubaca, a Luke, and a Yan Solo.

They all went route of 1,500 to 1,750, which seemed pretty reasonable for them.

They're normally 3,000 or 4,000 mark.

Then you've got the Palitoy European buy logo for the return of the Jedi.

You get the Bespin scene.

France didn't get it until 1982 and they got a Palitoy boxed version with a notification Meccano sticker on it.

It's quite surprising they didn't get it until so much later.
