Let's talk about this 2009 film.

I remember when this was coming out, McG was directing it.

We're like, you know, the guy who did Charlie's Angels, he's going to do he's going to do Terminator.

And then you heard from the producers were like, yeah, he was the last guy on our list.

I do watch a lot of people in the U.K. and Australia.

But he said he kept talking about the R-rated version like there's never been one.

Like McG said, the R-rated version had more stuff.

It's more of what we wanted.

Who knows? Let's just do it.

Number five on your list is The Babysitter, directed by McG.

Stars Judah Lewis, Samara Weaving, and Bella Thorne.

Has a 70% from critics and a 62% from audiences.

So I have to push back on this pairing.

How on earth does a writer whose bread and butter is multi-cam comedies and network tearjerkers team up with a visually explosive director like McG to make a dark, gritty, psychological thriller about a cop who killed someone?

I get it.

It just seems like a total mismatch on paper.

But a thriller also requires intense visual momentum.

It needs to be cinematic, propulsive, and engaging to keep you physically on the edge of your seat during that cat and mouse game.

And that's McG.

That is where McG's pedigree comes in.

Yep.

You love McG.

Yeah.

Big McG fan.

Yeah.

McG-ber is what they call you guys.

The McG-bers.

Charlie's Angels 2,

And he never used his name.

Oh, McG.

Yes.

The m- the movie stars Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Demi Moore, Bernie Mac, RIP, Justin Theroux, Crispin Glover, Matt LeBlanc, John Cleese, Robert Patrick, Shia LaBeouf, and Bruce Willis.

[laughs] And the movie was directed by McG.

Screenplay was written by John August, Cormac Wibberley, and W- Marianne Wibberley.

You can currently watch it on Prime if you rent it and I think that's it.

Bernie Mac replaced Bill Murray as Bosley.

Obviously, after the fights on set from the last movie, Bill Murray did not want to reprise his role.

He refused to work with the d- director McG again.

He, and o- and like I said, he had problems with Lucy Liu on the first film, but publicly insisted that Liu was not the reason for his departure.

It was called The Mountain.

And Stephanie Savage and McG were producing it, and McG was the director who was gonna be the director of this new Superman movie at the time.

So I saw that fax, the paper come through the fax machine [laughs] and I saw his name on there, and I thought, "If I go a- and have a good audition for this, maybe he'll be in the callback, and I'll see him, and he'll be like, 'You should come in and meet about Superman.'"

Mm-hmm.

Um, but I got a callback.

Mm.

And so I went to the callback, and McG wasn't there.

But Stephanie Savage was, his producing partner.
