Mayfair Witches

Oh my God.

Be like, have you ever read The Mayfair Witches? I don't think you have.

Yes.

You did.

Yes.

I wanna shift gears to Mayfair Witches because the upcoming 2027 season is uprooting absolutely everything we know about the show.

According to the TV Insider piece, season three is leaving New Orleans completely.

Which is a profound relocation considering New Orleans is practically the foundational bedrock of Anne Rice's entire aesthetic.

That's a heavy-hitting ensemble.

It is, but I have to push back on this strategy for a second.

Does taking Mayfair Witches out of New Orleans risk losing the show's actual soul?

That's the million-dollar question.

... does sound very similar.

Um, I haven't watched a ton of the show, but the Mayfair Witches.

Hmm.

It's set in Louisiana, so it kinda has the Southern-

Yeah

... yeah.

If you take maybe the Southern Gothic vibes of the Mayfair Witches, the dark academia from, um, the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and then maybe, like, the more sisterhood vibes of Agatha All Along, and you put them in a cauldron, and you-

Yes

Oh, yeah, and I'm seeing 45 episodes of Profiler, so definitely a recurring role there.

Oh, she was on two episodes of Mayfair Witches.

That's what it was.

It stuck out at me.

I need to find out what that role was, Ellie, on Mayfair Witches, because we watched all of that.

I think I know what it was, actually.

Yeah.

Yeah, that was a good role.

I don't like it.

I like the Mayfair Witches.

The interview with the vampire is okay, but I've got to tell you, the TV show doesn't follow the freaking books either.

Okay, it's funny you mentioned the Mayfair Witches because I remember you told me about it last year and I watched the first season, loved it, and then I had to wait and then the second series didn't come out.

I binged the second season Oh, The Mayfair Witches, just last weekend.

Okay.

So, I love the first season one.

I don't know why.

I'm watching the Mayfair Witches right now, which has been on for years.

Did you see the premiere of South Park last night?

No, I did not.

Um, also there's two other concurrent, um, shows going on the long way interview with the vampire.

So there's the Mayfair witches that ties into interview with the vampire.

Um, the first season is out.

I'm in the middle of watching that and that's pretty good.

It's fire and season two was confirmed.

So yeah, so those four things that I've been watching.

Mayfair Witches, Talamasa, The Secret Order, Talamasa, The Secret Order, and Interview with the Vampire.

Fire, fire, fire.

Yeah.

Mayfair Witches? Yes, I liked that.

I do watch that.

And that's on Netflix

Quick observation.

We've talked about this before, about how the Talamasca seem to function differently in the Vampire Chronicles as they do in the Mayfair Witches series.

How do you think they're going to reconcile that when they finally do a crossover? Because it's inevitable.

I don't think they care enough to...

Based on what I've seen from the Mayfair Witches, I don't feel like they're even going to care to do so.

I think they'll probably just write off the Mayfair Witches based upon the ratings and everything else and then carry this out and use that as a carrier so that way the...

the vampire series can move on and forward and then they could utilize the watchers as they are.

For what you were thinking, Billy, of like the overall idea and what they were talking about within the frame of the episode and everything is more of an epiphany for all these characters of their situation.
