Mayday

And the guys writing it are good, talented.

They did the Dungeons and Dragons movie with Chris Pine, which was good, and Game Night and some other things, and Mayday, which I haven't seen yet.

They don't plan to include any legacy characters.

Oh, interesting.

I only saw two movies this week.

One of them, 2026's Mayday.

Oh, I

like that movie.

Ocean's Twelve.

That was Ocean's Twelve.

Like Mayday, not horrible.

I enjoyed it.

Today we'll be talking about TV, including Vision Quest, Traitor's New Blood, Survivor, Amazing Race, Wonka Golden Ticket, Cherry, and Crystal Lake.

Movies including Mayday, Other Mommy, Street Fighter, and Clayface.

And as always, the week in sports, the week in Funko and collecting, weekly Star Wars moment, and our weekly random movie and song recommendations.

But before I go any further, it's the news!

I think I saw it probably right after our last episode because I didn't mention it then.

And I did want to mention it.

It's the Apple TV movie Mayday.

It's Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh.

It's Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh, and it's called Mayday.

I started to watch the beginning of it, and it is a like, not that Ryan

Reynolds hasn't done many science fiction movies or like Marvel

style

movies,

but isn't it a little bit, it's like sci-fi, right? What's the premise of the movie again? I think I watched the beginning.

Unfortunately, I'm not astute in my type of airplanes, but he flies something.

And while some of the kind of, I think editing tricks and fun things of playing with his, you know, his face and being able to be a shapeshifter, I think is kind of fun at times.

I overall was kind of mixed to mix positive, like sort of in the same realm as, I mean, I almost enjoyed whale fall street fighter and clay face almost all on the same level, but for very different reasons, like, And even some of the stuff I talked about earlier with Mayday and Coyote vs. Acme, it's not just feeling like everything is okay, but all of those movies I think are good.

I'm using air quotes.

We don't need to fight about Street Fighter anymore.

It was like as if somebody was running for office in there, right? And it was just a bunch of posters to vote for this person.

Well, it almost reminds us, I just watched Mayday, and there's this moment in the movie Mayday where Ryan Reynolds meets this ex-KGB guy who's a huge super fan of the USA.

So imagine that, but reversed, where they entered the bedroom of some super fan of the USSR.

Anyway, yes, I agree.

I learned so much about the SR-71, and it was fascinating, uh, hearing all your aviation stories.

You should go check out that new, uh, there's a movie about the SR-71 that just came out in September.

Ryan Reynolds, Mayday.

You should go, uh, he gets, like, shot down.

He's an SR-71 pilot.

Maybe it's, uh, based on your story.

Uh, oh, no. [laughs] Kidding, but it's out there, the movie.

Have you seen clips of that?
