I came across this article from El Mundo in 2018, where they interviewed Ricardo and Maximiliano Gutierrez, two of the brothers.

A movie was made the year before, loosely based off these events, called Veronica, and they wanted to clear the image of their sister.

They go on to explain that Estefaniana wasn't into Ouija boards, nor the occult, that the whole story of the Ouija board was told by their mother, Concepcion, only after Estefaniana's death.
