Can you tell us why is American football here? Why has the NFL arrived? So Dave, this is the 20th

season that the NFL has played a game internationally.

This is part of their expansion plans.

They want and they can see the appeal of the game broadening and Australia is next cab off the rank.

And so this game on Friday, talk us through it.

Like it's a legitimate game, right? Yeah.

So it's the first game of the regular season for the Rams and for the 49ers.

What is it about the NFL that draws you in as opposed to, I mean, you're probably like a footy fan of like AFL-NR or whatever back here, but what is it that draws you to that sport in particular?

Would that be fair, Max?

Well, not really.

Um, a g- good friend of mine, Michael O'Connor from, uh, Christchurch, uh, has, uh, has, uh, uh, is basically the, [chuckles] the, uh, his- historian for all of those early dramas.

He keeps immaculate scrapbooks of them all.

Um, but I, uh, uh, when I heard it was 50 years, I thought, "Oh, well, I'll write an article," and I wrote an article for the Otago Daily Times, and, uh, it sort of, uh, sort of [chuckles] kickstarted all my memories again, going back and meeting old people who worked on the show again, old actors and old crew members who worked on the show.

Of course, you must remember 50 years ago, a lot of those actors and, and cr- crew members are no longer with us.

Um, we were so young.

[chuckles] What was the, uh, story?

I was like, "They're insane." I can't believe-

Well, first of all, it seems you own, uh, like a, a vintage store or something.

Here's what I find to be most disturbing about this.

I, I get maybe people, whatever, maybe they don't like what you did, maybe they say, "Oh, that guy's a jerk," or whatever.

The, the problem that I have is now people are leaving y- one-star reviews for your store, which I, I assume you, I don't know if you work there, you own it, or whatever.

I don't know.

I don't know the details.

But, uh, what do you want people to know? What, what, any final words in your own defense or your own whatever, what do you want people to hear or know or take away from it?

What happened? How did you know? It was people texting you or were people in the stands yelling at you or what happened?

It was it was both.

I mean, there were people yelling at me.

You know, I'm getting texts and people like, oh, you got the ball.

And I'm like, yeah.

And then I'm hearing stuff from people.

And, you know, I'm like realizing like, you know.

When did you give the ball back?
