Max Doty

On today's episode, I am joined by a veteran game writer, winner of Netflix's inaugural Find Your Voice Award, and a frequent contributor to the No Sleep subreddit for short horror stories.

It's Max Doty.

Hello.

Hi, so glad to be here.

There's certain elements of that.

It also reminds me of, I know you had interviewed Max Doty, The House That Eats the Dead, which is another great novel out and just a family house.

And although I would say it's more of a romance because I love the idea of a house eating like dust and things and cleaning it for me.

Oh, wouldn't that be nice? It was like an erotic novel for a mom.

Yeah.

It's interesting with Reddit, and it's interesting too, the parallels, because the last person I was speaking to on This Is Horror was Max Doty, who wrote The House That Eats The Dead.

And that also began life as a story on Reddit.

So...

I'm Michael David Wilson, and every episode alongside my co-host Bob Pastorella, I chat with the world's best writers about writing, life lessons, creativity, and much more.

Today I am chatting with Max Doty, the author of The House That Eats The Dead.

Max Doty is a veteran game writer who served as the head of content for Choices Stories You Play and Surviving High School, for which he also wrote two spin-off novels.

His screenplay, Almost Kings, won Netflix's inaugural Find Your Voice award and was made into a feature film.

He regularly contributes to Reddit's No Sleep Forum, where his work often appears at the top of the charts.

His debut novel, The House That Eats The Dead, was published by Tor Nightfire in the UK and by Bantam in America.

But before we chat with Max Doty, a quick
