He had risen to some of the highest ranks in the financial services industry.

He was a Hofstra Law School graduate.

He started working as a lifeguard, and he spent decades, decades cultivating his career, his reputation, building it, so he was seen as a titan of Wall Street, ties to elite circles, especially in Florida rich-- retirement rich areas like Florida and Long Island.

He was even chairman of the Nasdaq in the early nineteen-nineties.

Professor Weiss has also served in several NCSL leadership positions, including on the National Executive Committee and as staff chair of the Elections and Redistricting Committee.

He was a fellow at the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School and has taught election law at New York Law School, Hofstra Law School, and the Toro Law Center.
