Um, that practical impact I'm less worried about than the precedent.

The practical impact is probably passed in that we're under the 90-day threshold before a general election access to that data.

In this case, most of the individuals are, are, um, w- what they will put in the immigrant camp.

They've swept up many Americans under the auspices of sweeping up immigrants.

I mean, the natural thing is, okay, let's shut these things down and let's stop having them.

But I have a different perspective.

I feel like part of the aftermath that I don't like of 9-11 is that we talk in terms of security.

And that's a symptom.

You can't just go to a concert and have fun these days.

It's a symptom that we're treating.

We are not treating the underlying disease.

I've never seen an issue in which almost every state in the United States turned against an issue at about the same time.

It had this really moment where, well, one, we should point out we've had data centers for 20 years.

Back in the day, in political theory land, for all of our political scientists out there, it was that political parties formed around policy issues or around large identities of how you feel about government and how it works together.

So the question is, you know, which side do you burn and is he doing it the right way?

And I think that this clarity creates some space where hopefully we can have good policies that start to elevate.

The United States Congress has failed to do their job having an administrative system about who we want temporarily or permanently in the United States.

And instead of focusing on the work to finish this administrative system, this is just an administrative system.

I keep waiting for the Congress that will do it.

And we're not talking about that.

And instead, we're looking for ways to punish the people who want to come to America and want to work here and want to live here and want to raise their families here.

And I do think that these clarify.

Have you heard anything about possibilities or where they might be headed next?

No, I mean, the biggest problems were the differences in what the requirements of detention.

That's been historically the problem.

But I will point out this isn't a criminality issue.

If you look at most, I mean, I think what the Trump administration was trying to accomplish is larger than the average criminal roundup, only then to get down to criminals.

But they were going with a wide net approach to get to a few people.

And I think there are many of us who who did not think this is good public policy because the majority of people in these aggressive ICE detentions were not criminals.

But unfortunately, it smears a candidate and causes some people to wonder, well, maybe it was or maybe it was not that time, but another time.

have rules, but But I mean, you do look at these managers and traditionally, the federal government has done a good job picking highly educated people, being able to pay them a little more.

So they've actually been better employers.

It's also interesting that a state wants to put that online.

The other irony is that Utah often criticizes and yet we are one of the bigger takers of federal money.

We have our little hands out as we talk about how bad the federal government is.

and the policies that we don't like.

Let's just assume you are correct about how I responded to this.

Um, but, and, and particularly in the arc of the change of, of Spencer Cox's position on this issue.

But I decided to dig a little deeper, 'cause here's, here, here are my two points.

One is there are advocacy groups who have a point of view and, and seek to share and persuade us that they should, uh, uh, the, whether that's in the environment or day cares or whatever.

I love advocacy.

Yeah, he's a mess, and a, a lot of the wounds, uh, are self-inflicted, and rightly so.

I think that the developer, I think every Utahn agrees that this developer did not communicate well or early enough with anybody, whether that was official or unofficial or with the public.

And you're seeing it show up in some citizens of Box Elder County wanting to do a referendum.

I think, like I've said this before, there's an old adage that says, "All political failures are communications failures." And I think people are untrusting.

This is now a trust issue, and I think that that rests largely on this developer who came in too fast.

Frankly, if you're a Utahn, it feels like he took, he, he found us to be bumpkins, and I, it fee- uh, the speech that he uses is hard to not take offense to.

And, and so this is not a response to that, but, but w- we are still in a belief section.

You have not seen...

Y- you have seen the, um, concept outline, and the outline makes sense with the current data we know, but we have not seen the specs on this.

And we don't know that they can regenerate to the grid, as, as an example.

We know that they aspire to.

And i- if you ask, why is this one blowing up and the others haven't blown up, I think a couple things.

One is it's got a superstar, right? It's got Mr.

Wonderful, so it's just easy to pay attention to.

One, it's the biggest one.

It's the, it's the largest economic development project that we will see in the, the near term in Utah.

It completely meets, uh, the governor's Operation Gigawatt goals on its own.
