Matthews

Hello, I'm Kevin DeYoung, pastor at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, North Carolina, and you are listening to Doctrine Matters.

Each week on Doctrine Matters, we explore the rich doctrine of the Christian faith.

We'll pull from the church's long history, complex debates, and over the course of the year, the hope is that we'll begin to frame out what is a clear, accessible, systematic theology.

Hello, I'm Kevin DeYoung, pastor at Christ Government Church in Matthews, North Carolina, and you are listening to Doctrine Matters.

We want this podcast to equip Christians with a better understanding of the rich theology that undergirds our faith.

And hopefully along the way, we'll be looking at some that have even been misunderstood or maybe misinterpreted.

And I find that I find that fascinating.

Kevin DeYoung serves as senior pastor at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, North Carolina, and is associate professor of systematic theology at Reformed Theological Seminary.

He's also the author of a new book with Crossway, Church History for Everyone, the story of Christianity from the fall of Jerusalem to the dawn of the Reformation.

Well, Kevin, thanks so much for joining me again on the Crossway podcast.

Thanks for any insight." Okay, so you're in...

Oh, you're in Matthews.

"I live in the Weddington area, Matthews ZIP code." Right.

So if you're in Mecklenburg County, I don't, I-- It's not clear what you're saying 'cause Weddington is not Mecklenburg County as far as I know, unless something has changed recently, right? Weddington is still Union County as far...

Right.

Welcome back to Life and Books and Everything.

I'm Kevin DeYoung, the senior pastor at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, North Carolina, and very glad to be joined by my special guest, a returning guest, and a friend and a prolific author, preacher, pastor, publisher.

How many other things that start with P? Parent, grandparent, Joel Beeke, Dr.

Beeky.

That's not the way it works.

We work with the town of Matthews in having a tree giveaway and we always try to make sure that people understand how to plant the tree because most people plant trees too deep and they die and how to maintain the tree because otherwise we're not setting the person or the poor trees up for success there.

You don't have to cut down plants or remove spent blooms or seed heads.

So you can leave all of that stuff.

Others single out finish work that was careful and never rushed.

Lowe's is launching drone delivery in partnership with DoorDash and Alphabet's Wing, becoming the first home improvement retailer to offer this service.

According to CNBC, the pilot is live at a store in Matthews, North Carolina, a Charlotte suburb, giving customers access to more than 100 products in as fast as 20 minutes, with plans for expansion.

Customers order through a dedicated Lowe's by Drone storefront in the DoorDash app.

Wing drones carry about two and a half pounds per flight and cover roughly a five-mile radius around the store.
