Matthew Scott

Another twist in the tale here.

The reason they've decided to go this way rather than the conventional way is because the conventional way involves the police and crime commissioner, Matthew Scott.

Now, normally you'd speak to him, he'd investigate.

But the problem is somebody involved in the fraud investigation from all those years ago was Mr Scott's agent when he stood to be crime commissioner back in 2016.

So there's a very clear conflict of interest.

But I need to be clear, there's no suggestion at all that Mr Scott has done anything wrong.
