Matthew 9:36

But when you walk in this level of discernment, God opens your eyes to people's true need.

Matthew 9:36, "But when he saw multiples, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were very weary and scattered like sheep having no shepherd." So what does discernment do? It helps us move beyond judgment, see the brokenness behind these people's actions.

So, so many people are sitting here, and they're pointing the finger, "Look, this one did that, and this one did this." And man, where, what Bible are you reading? The one that I read says, "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." I mean, you're, you're like a self-righteous super saint.

What are you? Are you the, are you the internet police? Are you the, are you the Christian, uh, Bible hit-over-the-head police? Seriously, do you think that that's gonna attract the world, is when we're constantly condemning them? No.

So God opens your eyes to people's true need, okay? God opens your eyes to people's true need.

That's where we're at right now as a Remnant community.

Matthew 9:36, "But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered like sheep having no shepherd." That's my heart as I see the Body of Christ today, and so many people that are deceived and are beat down.

It's not that I wanna come and condemn you or tell you how awful you are.

So we shouldn't deny our feelings in life, but we shouldn't just be led by our emotions and our feelings.

And it says this in Matthew 9, 36, because we're looking at the life of Jesus.

Jesus, he was never led by emotions.

but he was moved with compassion.

And here it is in Matthew 9, 36, that when he saw the crowd, he was moved with compassion.

I actually think Compassion Sunday references this, that their slogan is to be moved with compassion, which is a whole lot deeper than just being led by our feelings.

And this is why it's important for stirring the fire in my life and in your life.

But Matthew, John, if you don't mind, nice and loud.

Matthew 9, 36, just one verse.

And when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd.

It's also what we see as what God says in chapter 4 verse 11 when he s- Jonah says, "Should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh and the people who are there and the many cattle as well?" That womb-like compassion, that motherly love, that care that is there, well, that is perfectly represented in Jesus.

Let me read to you what it says.

Jesus is out, outside of the city, just like Jonah, and he's looking at the crowds that are there, just like Jonah, but Jesus' response is completely different.
