Matt Talbot

Welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts Podcast, where we know that every day is a feast day.

It's October 3rd, so join us for Venerable Matthew Talbot, the man who came home.

He was just an old laborer who had collapsed on Dublin Street.

That was all anyone knew about the man that they carried from Granby Lane on the morning of June 1925.

Yeah, you're a bit tired.

So what I thought I'd do, Beth, and this is wonderful, Matt, I thought I'd take a deep dive into the last four years and see how much it would cost against the season tickets in the top uh per goal you know what i mean how much how much per goal would it have cost so i started at 23 24 so we've just gone back into the championship we might be up against it had a bit of a mid-table season we're under uh we had the darren moore and then just go munoz debacle and then found danny roe so um 23 24 There was 27 league goals at Hillsborough.

The cost per goal was £19.26 for your £520 season ticket on the Kop.

The following season, 24-25, what was it, 12th place finish, A-up kit and all the rest of it? No, it wasn't the A-up kit, it was the pinstriping one.

This is on-field.

The last two weeks have been shocking.

We had a thing here, I think it was Matt Talbot said, we've just talked about the off-field stuff, being able to do this.

Stevie just went on about Wilson and Bruce and everything.
