Now, I will candidly admit that I don't love Periphery, but I do see how and why they are leaders of the post-Meshuggah crop of djent bands.

Their synthesis of technical proggy complexity and virtuosity with an anthemic metalcore-esque accessibility is a truly impressive sonic achievement.

Um, at the beginning it was, I would have, the song kind of laid out and work on flushing it out.

But as I've gotten more into this and worked closer with Zach Munowitz and Matt Halpern and Dan Book, we have been collaborating more like in the room together, which has been nice.

I am very hard headed and I feel like I can be really difficult to work with because I always know exactly what I want the song to be, but it's been really fun and we've had some success working all together and not me just being a sassy director.
