And as I touched on off the top of the show, Matt Canavan is demanding an apology from the BBC after a dead vision of crocodiles supposedly lurking in Rockhampton's rowing venue, the Fitzroy River, but it's been revealed the vision was filmed 3,500 kilometres away in WA.

The British broadcaster published an Instagram reel titled Would You Go Rowing In This River? Apparently it's been taken down this morning, so I'm sure Matt Canavan will have a bit more to say about it today.

Additionally, they propose setting the heavy vehicle road user charge to zero while the same price threshold applies.

Over the weekend, myself and Angus Taylor announced that a coalition government is proposing a new scheme to provide long-term and automatic protection for Australian families from high petrol and diesel prices.

We've seen a couple of spikes this year in fuel prices.

And so it's just a lot easier to get that to zero.

And so there's just no longer any headache for small businesses having to also battle higher diesel prices.

Instead of, I think, what was a baby bonus back then, you know, this kind of approach we've been taking is how do we make those choices available for people if they want to have children, how do we support that?

And Nationals leader Matt Canavan agrees.

I don't support going back to a sort of direct baby bonus.

The BBC, this world-renowned news organisation, spread total lies and misinformation about Queensland, about the rowing and canoeing events here in 2032.

How do we make those choices available for people? If they want to have children, how do we support that? And that can be through our investments in early education and care, our three-day guarantee, our extending PPL, our ensuring that dads or second parents can take it.

Nationalist leader Matt Canavan doesn't think a baby bonus is the right way either to encourage more Australians to have children either.

He says we should change the tax system.

I've pushed for a long time, going back to my first speech in Parliament, the idea of income splitting, having our tax system treat families like they are a team, whereas currently our tax system treats people like individuals and it's very hard then to combine yourselves into a team when you're trying to raise a young child and all the financial pressures that come with that.

A lot of people are worried about what the planet's future will be.

None of this combines to make it a very optimistic time to have children, does it?

No, it's funny because the income splitting argument, which you just heard from Matt Canavan, didn't make any sense at a time when there were a lot of relatively large families.

Increasing over time, it starts to make sense.
