Matt Bell

But I didn't know there was something called a fully funded MFA until the summer of 2022.

Matt Bell, who is a professor of fiction at ASU, his book Refused to be Done came out and he was doing a tour and I attended one of his sessions.

And he was talking about how his MFA students are there.

And I was like, huh, what is an MFA? Also, I was very impressed that in one hour, he had listed so many of these writing best practices that had taken me years to just find out on my own or create on my own.

being amongst readers and writers who were writing books and talking about books.

And so that was my main reason to get into an MFA program.

Well, I have to say Matt Bell's book, Refuse to be Done, that's what it's called, right? Is a great book.

And if listeners haven't read it, I highly suggest.

He's back in your life.

Super shout out to Matt Bell, how to write and rewrite a novel in three drafts.

I read this at the beginning of every stage of every project that I work on.

So I won't read the whole book right now.
