And I love it because I think we, all the, let me say the Bugatti family is really, really grateful to have a guy at the helm called Mate Rimac, right? And this gentleman has led us with an incredible product, product design that all goes back to making your hair stand up from a product perspective, right? It's the simple philosophy of taking value into the future and taking product into the future is actually almost very simple, is find the formula that makes that hair stand up and be true to your North Star, which in our case is 16 cylinders, right? and you pair that with, you know, something that's highly emotional, you turn that into a V16, high revving, naturally aspirated and make the best of both worlds on it and put, you know, a hybridized powertrain together.

That's smart, right? That's smart.

And then, so that is something that will withstand the test of times.

Croatia's Rimac Group holds the remaining 55% stake.

And I think with Mate Rimac in charge of that company, I think it'll be just fine.

Now, what about buying Chinese EVs in the US? Well, it is a possibility according to Senator Alyssa Slotkin.

She said that she'd heard rumors that President Trump may allow Chinese cars into the United States under a broader agreement with China, a move she said would irrevocably impact 1.2 million Michigan jobs.

Um, but, uh, Rimac Automobili, uh, handcrafted in Croatia, um, uh, their founder has gone off, um, to do other things.

Mate Rimac, um, who was the, the founder of that.

He's a bit of a, a genius, uh, to be honest, and a very good entrepreneur.

Um, he did great bikes as well.

Um, ah, no, Rimac's gone to Bugatti.

Um, so Mate Rimac, um, has been working for about four years with-

Which they've just sold, so they've lost him

I'm, I, I personally, that's something I could bend on.

But it, it's like becoming the conversation now, and I heard s- I don't know who it was, but somebody was interviewing Mate Rimac about, about, um, what he sees as the future of the hypercar.

And he said-

And I think when EREVs work their way down the chain, they're still really new, a couple of years old in China, I think that is just a time bomb, and that's where I've settled.

And then all, the other interesting thing is, is you try and read the tea leaves of the kind of people who, you know, who know about these things, and there's the story this week of Mate Rimac, of course, the man who invented the supercar that blew away all the hypercars.

And then he's now the CEO of Bugatti and Porsche, exiting that and selling to, uh, private equity, I think it was, and, and, and, and coming out of that.

But either way, he now makes combustion cars, and so we have to listen to Mate Rimac because although he's now doing production stuff, and so, yeah, he's making a new, something like a 16-cylinder hypercar, whatever, and this was his take.

"For normal cars, normal people, the vast majority will be electric," he said this week.

"The upper segment, like sports cars and upwards, are going to stay combustion for a very long time, exactly like watches.

And if you really have the money to argue about it, go and buy a beautiful piece of handcrafted art with cylinders and oil that goes up and down, and pumps and pulleys, because it's engineering beauty.

But if you're gonna go get some bread and milk, [laughs] just drive a BEV." So I think that's kind of where I've settled.
