Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District

So I ended up getting a job as a contractor in the school district an hour north of Anchorage is Mat-Su Borough.

And so the Mat-Su Borough School District was my first job.

assignment in Alaska.

And then I decided to maintain employment there.

We are all under the teacher's umbrella.

However, because we have national board certification, there is a stipend that we receive.

And that's also the case for, I believe, most of the other major school districts in Alaska, Anchorage School District, Mat-Su Borough School District, Fairbanks.

juneau and uh ketchikan that's sorry not ketchikan those are the big five school districts so um but most of the time i believe there's a stipend we have a three thousand dollar stipend now i will say part of the work that um back to the union at ne alaska um what myself and the occupational therapist that is from juneau we um she actually put forth um the idea and i'm seconding this of course um but we co-chair the related service provider committee under any alaska's umbrella we meet we we meet monthly but part of one of our goals is there was teachers there was a legislation that was passed a year ago for um it was targeting to bring um teachers and educators and retaining, not just recruiting, but retaining as well.
