Master of Theology

But, uh, you know, I went down to Dallas Seminary and, uh, never, never looked back since then, and got my- my master's degree down there, my- my Master of Theology, and then went back and got my PhD, and have the privilege to teach there at DTS now as well.

So I pastor the church in Oklahoma and teach at Dallas Seminary, but it was just a, a clear calling of God upon my life.

I've never doubted it or, or have any, uh, wavered at all in that since that took place, so, um, but it's- it's been a great blessing.

Wow

... and has literally changed the course of their lives to the point now where they, the husband is, is doing a, a, a Masters in Theology.

No way.

The wife is in, uh, you know, vocational ministry.

This wonderful apostle, the Angel of the Judgment, was born at Valencia in Spain in thirteen fifty, and at the age of eighteen professed in the Order of St. Dominic.

After a brilliant course of study, he became Master of Sacred Theology.

For three years he read only the Scriptures, and knew the whole Bible by heart.

He converted the Jews of Valencia, and their synagogue became a church.

Okay, imagine a cherubim or the archangel Gabriel popped up next to you, or imagine you could listen in to a, a court meeting of these angelic beings.

You know, and one of the angels says, "Well, we've got a problem with pride down there with, with Bob." And the other angel says, "Well, why, why is he proud?" "Well, he's really pleased with himself because he's really good at kicking a ball between three sticks on a Saturday afternoon." The angel's like, "What?" "Oh, he's really pleased with himself because someone's, uh, given him a piece of paper with, um, Masters in Theology on it." The angel's like, "A Master of Theology?" Compare yourself to the angelic council, you're not so great.

The watchers have found Nebuchadnezzar to be arrogant, and so, well, he, he undergoes almost a kind of de-creation story.

He is reduced to being like an animal.

So I guess the, the first question in that vein is, for having done this, how, how many years now have you been teaching or actively fighting against the charismatic movement?

Actively fighting against it? So when I was in seminary, I wrote my master's thesis on Benny Hinn for my ThM degree.

So that was in, I started my ThM program in 2000, so 2001, 2002.

I graduated in 2002, so that's when I wrote my master's thesis, and by then, as part of the research for that dissert- thesis rather, I went to some Benny Hinn crusades doing research.

So I guess it started in earnest then.

Mm-hmm.

I have to become a Masters of Theology.

No. You're asking, "I want to learn because I'm falling in love with Jesus." 'Cause I think you wanna have this i- this is just me speaking as a s- husband, as a assessing-
