Marymount College, Tarrytown

Bob Berman founded the Catskill Astronomical Society in 1976 and is director of Overlook Observatory near Woodstock, New York, and the Storm King Observatory at Cornwall, New York.

Bob was an adjunct professor of astronomy and physics at New York's Marymount College from 1995 to 2000.

For 13 years prior to that, Bob Berman directed the summer astronomy program at Yellowstone Park for the National Park Service and Yellowstone Institute.

Well, Bob, welcome back to the show.

Well, I grew up in Levittown and Long Beach and went to Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead.

I then left Long Island briefly to go to Marymount College in Tarrytown and returned to go to C.W. Post.

Actually, after that, I went to Boston University for a year and then went to C.W. Post and then took my doctorate out at Stony Brook.

But after finishing my doctorate, I continued my work life off the island until about 20 years ago when I joined Hempstead's wonderful Hofstra University.
