And Marvin Burks was a ways off in coverage.

I think he completes that pass if he gets it off.

Instead, Hammond Russell, massive bull rush, gets the mitts up.

You had Clayton and Denadio Cooper with a really nice job on this pass rush.

I will say...

On the right sideline on this play, Marvin Burks has to be a little careful.

He gets his eyes in the backfield, and he's just kind of watching Beck.

And Penn State kind of steals this one at the end.

You had the other sequence on third down where it was Bryce West and Marvin Burks Jr. over there.

They just consistently made the right plays and it happened at every level.

So yeah, I mean, this defense, and I know that Mason Post has had a lot of confidence in this group, and he's part of it, but felt like what he saw, not that it confirmed what he already knew, but for them to go do it on the big stage and hold Penn State the way that they did says a lot about, I think, what's possible for the defense.

They're going to hit you with some explosives, but a lot of it is based off – defenders being unable to stay disciplined.

So Matt Young, Marvin Burks, that back line of the defense, you've got to stay disciplined.

And then we have an opportunity, and I love it right here.

Um, their safety duo i- is pretty veteran.

Marvin Burks, who was a multi-year starter at Missouri, is starting at one safety spot next to Matt Jung, uh, who s- started the second half of the season after Preston Zachman was hurt last year for Wisconsin.

You know, he's, he's really solid in coverage, but he's not a strong tackler.

But secondary, especially the safeties, I want to see, you know, fewer mistakes, fewer missed tackles.

And I'd really like to see Marvin Burks, you know, I feel, you know, make some plays.

I'm a little bit surprised we really haven't heard his name called for any big plays yet this year, the transfer from Missouri at safety.

He was someone I was expecting a really big year from, and we haven't seen it yet.

There were a couple of bad penalties on the defense that extended drives for Eastern Michigan.

Marvin Burks rips a guy's helmet off on third down as he was trying to get loose for a on a route and he just ripped the helmet, went flying and it kept that drive alive.

And then, you know, Sebastian cheeks getting called for roughing the passer on third down two plays that they could have gotten off the field.

That would have been significant against better competition in a closer game.

We've talked a little bit about safety play.

Marvin Burks also had a nice pass, like break up in the end zone.

I thought the safeties played pretty darn well today too, Justin.

Yeah, I would agree.

But I want to see a safety make a play.

I want to see Marvin Burks, Matt Young.

I want to see one of our cornerbacks jump a route.

I want to see Nicholas Clayton, the guy that we've been talking about for a while.

We need to see, is the secondary actually upgraded? I think that's still an ongoing question.

You know, it hasn't been as impactful, I think, as a lot of Badger fans have hoped it would be.
