Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales

I don't wanna spoil anything.

So it was just a good time to play this game, and I see a lot of my friends playing Spider-Man 2 right now on Steam, also Miles Morales, 'cause that- those were on sale as well.

So I do hope-

It was actually relatively short.

And Miles Morales, the standalone game, was even shorter, but it has...

It had worthwhile gameplay to go back through, back to.

You could keep leveling up your character and things.

It's more of the same, and it's way more of it, and it's, it's like you didn't need to do that.

[laughs] You didn't need to make that much more of it.

Miles Morales was good, 'cause it was like a little bite-sized version of the first game.

Yeah, I love, I love Miles Morales.

That's my hot take coming right out of my ass.

Spider-Man 2 is not as good as Spider-Man 1 or Miles Morales, but it is still of a higher quality than the other Sony AAA slot that they put out.

I'll agree with that.

That's one.

The first one has a score of 4.69. Well, a lot more people played it.

Miles Morales was a 4.53, and Spider-Man 2 was the highest with a 4.72. Now, Spider-Man 2, if I remember correctly, did not sell as well as Spider-Man 1, and there was a lot of controversy there too.

the uglification of Mary Jane and a lot of their story points.

I know there was a lot of activism in that game, and that did turn some people off.

I think, though, that the backlash against Sony, I think that coupled with it getting out that the game is basically a cakewalk and that it's not really up to PS5 standards.

And, of course, Sweet Baby Inc. will lead to it not doing as well as the Spider-Man games.

They even said in the game where they admitted they thought it would maybe land somewhere around where Miles Morales is, which is, you know, okay.

But Miles wasn't a completely new game.

So there's other games ahead of it, but it's not doing terribly by any stretch.

I don't know if it's going to reach the levels of Spider-Man, which is what I'm sure Sony and Insomniac were expecting, but... uh it seems like reviews that are honest about the game say it is a very good game but it's not you know spider-man levels of good so it seems to be the game is a tad disappointing overall but still a very enjoyable game so i've only

seen two videos one where he like is on a roof and jumps to attack somebody and they both go through the ceiling but like not fall through the ceiling like glitch through the ceiling and then he opens a refrigerator and the person is inside the refrigerator

I mean, the game does have glitches.

I don't even think there was a Swat Cats game.

It's not Batman.

It's not Spider-Man.

I don't feel like it's a superhero.

And especially given just how well they seem to nail the Spider-Man games and things with the kind of formula they had going on there.

It almost seems like they kind of tried to... drop that formula onto a very different structure of game and in the process kind of stripped out the bits that worked or something and couldn't quite figure it out.

I don't know.

do the stabby stabby.

I mean, you could do an open world version of the stabby stabby, I guess.

But, you know, like Spider-Man works so beautifully for an open world superhero game because

and it's like okay now we have all those things but to start off i'm hearing the exact same thing from everybody who plays it is a why do i care about this and b like the combat is just not really all there it's not really that engaging until you start unlocking those things towards the end even then The reports I'm hearing are it doesn't open up in the way that a Spider-Man or Miles Morales would.

So it is disappointing for sure.

I'm so surprised, too, because I feel like so it was pointed out to me that apparently the bones of Wolverine, it's like virtually the same combat system as Spider-Man.

I think they could have.

I don't think it was foolish to believe that, period.

You know what I mean? I think it's just, when you have the holy trinity of Spider-Man 1, Miles Morales, and 2, which are varying degrees of quality.

I still think Miles Morales, the middle point, was probably the strongest of the three.
