Marvel Masterworks

Two things.

outsourcing other people to do it than in-house that's already happening with the marvel masterworks clover press who's printing the uh the spider-man newspaper strips just got the license from marvel to

um

they can't they can't afford to publish them themselves and make a profit it looks like for marvel with the masterworks so clover press came in and said hey we'll crowdfund this i will put it up on kickstarter like we've done with the amazing spider-man newspaper strips and For the people that collect the Marvel Masterworks, good for them.

Good for Clover for doing that.

That is one aspect.

We was just talking about, before we started, there's Clover Press.

This is a boutique publisher for books, and they basically got the license to remake some Marvel masterworks.

And so right now they have a Kickstarter.

By the way, this Kickstarter is still going, 28 days to go.

Um, so people want this, so that's not the issue.

I'm just saying it seems weird to me that they have to do this Kickstarter to make a Marvel comic, and I'm sure they had to pay Marvel to do this.

I'm like, "Why doesn't Marvel just do this themselves?" So you're gonna get some Marvel masterworks, and there's, like, different editions that they do, and some, some of these actually look really good.

And it has the Uncanny X-Men.

Marvel Masterworks returns.

This is Comic Book Club News for September 18, 2026.

After years of teasing, Miracleman, originally named Marvelman and created by Mick Angelo in 1954, has joined the Marvel Comics universe.

Sabrina and Vampirella actually sort of crossed over earlier this year, as both characters appeared in DC's DC KO Boss Battle No. 1.

However, the first issue of this official crossover will debut this November.

The beloved Marvel Masterworks line is back, but this time in Pog form.

Sorry, from Clover Press, a more high-end collection of classic comics.

This is great.

So years ago, the line of hardcovers reprinting all of Marvel's titles in chronological order called the Marvel Masterworks, they ceased publishing.

They went on hiatus.

Right.

I just wanted to have every masterworks volumes.

I was devastated.

So when it was announced this summer that the publisher, Clover Press, has stepped in to pick up the torch and continue publishing the Marvel Masterworks, they're going to lean on crowdsourcing.

Okay.

They did

some hardcore Marvel Masterworks.

I think they did two volumes of that for her.

Oh, in her early stuff? Okay.
