Could you give, give a little background how you got into this role and how you got into marketing?
Katelyn StokesGUEST
0:53
Maruchan actually was my client when I was on the ad agency side, so, uh, that's how I was introduced to the brand and my background before going brand side was I worked at a variety of different ad agencies, one that got acquired by a sales brokerage company.
Katelyn StokesGUEST
1:11
So I had a lot of different roles across advertising, business development, retail sales, all of which I think helped prepare for going CPG side and having an understanding of not only how to market and advertise the product, but also how to pull that through to retail.
Daniel MurrayHOST
1:30
You have like one of the most fun, distinct brands out there in the market.
Katelyn StokesGUEST
1:48
That's a great question.
Katelyn StokesGUEST
1:50
So social, uh, for the category as a whole, is such a great, I'd say, focus group, right? You see all of these people experimenting, remixing the ramen, making it their own, but it's likely the volume of content that you see, as well as the longevity that then could lead to a trend actually becoming a product.
Katelyn StokesGUEST
2:12
So for example, we saw that through social listening as well as search insights, that this term Maruchan Loca was the top term for us over a twelve-month period, and the volume of social chatter just kept growing and growing and growing.
Katelyn StokesGUEST
2:28
And what Maruchan Loca is, it's essentially an al dente ramen, but the key other product that you put is Flamin' Hot Cheetos on top, either crunched up or put on top.
