Martin Newman

His father was Geoffrey Lofts, a painter and decorator, whose business premises were where the former Haunter Gallery, next to the tourist information centre on Angel Hill, is today.

Nora's second husband was Robert Jorish, who, along with Martin Newman, helped set up the British sugar factory.

Clive lived in the coach house next to Northgate House, where his mother once lived.

He had been trying to get a blue plaque to his mother put on Northgate House, but could not get permission from the relative arbiters of local listed buildings.

He sounds like a guy who is used to losing.

And opposite him, you have Martin Newman in the role of Paul Gardner, the dead buddy.

The sources note this was Newman's only appearance on the series, and his choices are fascinating.

Yeah, he plays it so uniquely.
