Martha Stewart Living

I met her a couple of years ago and had dinner with her and because she's friends with Zoe.

And, you know, she's the original editor, editorial director from Martha Stewart Living.

Like she was like we all follow what we follow because of what Susan Spungen created.

And so I've always sort of been enamored of her.

But I've told this story so much over the years.

I've created a reality where it is actually Martha Stewart living.

That makes perfect sense.

That's the one you want to do with

And that really is probably because of Martha.

Now, Martha had Martha Stewart Living, but that was not a part of the Food Network.

That was a different channel.

So she kind of set the standard.

And she actually used Nigella's production crew.

They came from the UK and they produced her show for at least the first couple of seasons on Food Network.

But she really, if I wasn't watching Martha Stewart Living, I was watching The Barefoot Contessa and I was riveted.

And to this day, I can rewatch all of those episodes and sometimes you kind of chuckle a little bit at stuff, but all of those recipes still hold up.

And Martha is telling a story about how she was with him right before his death, and he was asking her for help with his magazine, George.

Remember he had that magazine that was failing, and Martha Stewart had Martha Stewart Living, and he was asking her for help and advice.

And then she said that he told her that he was going to a wedding that weekend and he was flying, and he told her he didn't have a co-pilot, and he was taking his wife and his sister-in-law.

And online, people are disputing that that's even a true story.

We don't believe it.

I could see, um, him asking her for help though with the magazine because that was a huge magazine.

Martha Stewart Living was, like, a huge magazine.

Is it still in existence today? I don't know.

He called me.

I was running Martha Stewart Living, and he called me and said he's in trouble, could he please talk to me about what to do with George, his magazine.

And I said, 'Of course, anything you want.' We had a very nice dinner, and then at the end of the dinner I said to him, 'What are you doing this weekend?' And he said, 'Oh, we're going to a wedding in Martha's Vineyard, and I'm taking my wife and her sister.' And I said, 'Well, who's flying?' He said, 'I'm flying.' I said, 'You have a co-pilot, right?' And he said, 'No, I don't need a co-pilot.' You know, I, oh, I didn't tell you this, but I've thought about this so many times, you know, that, that, uh, he didn't have a co-pilot.

And I feel sorry.

He called me.

I was r- running Martha Stewart Living magazine.

Mm-hmm.

And he called me and he said he's in trouble, and could he please talk to me about what to do with George, the magazine that he had started.
