Martha Kent

Hell yeah.

I could be wrong, but I believe Margaret Thatcher played Martha Kent in 1978.

No, no,

Maggie Thatcher is like a really bad...

Now, we cut to Kansas, where we see an old couple.

Now, we don't know for sure that this is Jonathan and Martha Kent.

No, yes, we do.

It's hard not to know it's them.

So they're talking about how the weatherman said there'd be rain, and so they're having trouble.

But then they say how the place across the road has rain, which doesn't make any sense.

But then Martha says, well, once you know what Lazarus is capable of.

So we know that they are basically dealing with evil Lazarus Corp. in some way.

I've been with Ordway and he sits there and defends like Batman v Superman.

I go, brother, Martha.

Why did you say that name? Are you kidding me? Your whole thing is hinging on the fact that your mom's name wasn't like Geraldine or something, and then you never would have got it.

That's one of the things in the movie.

As much as the Metropolis Gotham City thing annoyed me, I never picked up that both their names were Martha.

So in the movie theater, I'm like, Wait a minute.

Both their names are Martha.

How did I not put that together before? His name is actually Batman? What? What's happening?

So going to the real world, November 4th, Kiana Madeira, who plays Supergirl in My Adventures of Superman animated series, the one that is now, as we talked about, up in the air, was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1992.

And November 7th is traditionally recognized as the birthday of Martha Kent, Clark Kent's adoptive mother.

And that is This Week in History.

Thank you very much.

Alan, what happened in The Last Son of Krypton Part 2?

In this episode, Kal-El's spaceship crash lands on Earth following its interstellar journey, where he's found and adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent, who named him Clark.

A teenage Clark living in Smallville, Kansas, soon discovers he has superpowers, which he uses to save the lives of a family in a car accident.

And soon, the Kents tell him the truth of his origins.

So I mentioned I took these ones.

The first two shows I watched and I took notes on paper so I wouldn't have to keep staring at my phone.

I made myself laugh when I was like, oh, Ma and Pa, why are they called Ma? Before they said their names, which are Jonathan and Martha.

And I wrote Martha and Partha, which shouldn't have made me laugh as hard as it did.

It is nothing.

When he turns into Martha Kent is terrible.

It is nothing, but

I do like, I guess, it's just a moment where Martian Manhunter says to Bruce, he says like, you know, you brought the heroes of this world together.

And Harry Kane comes in and he goes...

Yeah, his wife is an amazing actress, the one that plays Martha Kent.

She's been...

Diane Lane.

issue.

Yeah, we've had one peek of Ma Kent in the hospital talking about her angel.

So we know that she

meets Superman.

And then I'll tell you something.

I'm getting chills just thinking about it, but that shot in the wheat, when the camera pulls around to Martha Kent and Clark, when they have that conversation and you hear .

I mean, this is Americana.

We're watching the United States and what America means laid out with two people, a mother and a son.

She played Lara in Smallville as well in a few episodes, so there's that, too.

Um, she's apparently, she voiced Martha Kent on the, one of the animated stuff, I think in the super, the DC superhero girls.

I think that

might've actually been, that might've actually been unbound.
