um not just witchcraft related but you know ethically in real life as well but one of the things that really stood out to me about this book is that your writing is so incredibly raw and open and you share both really beautiful and really difficult moments so i just wanted to ask like what gave you the courage to be that vulnerable

Well, when I first started writing the book, I was inspired by Sybil Leak's The Diary of a Witch.

And when I first opened it and started reading it, I was like, hey, this isn't a diary.

A caveat beforehand, I am in no way, shape or form comparing it to this book.

But growing up, I loved reading The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.

And my mom bought it for me.

We went to the Holocaust Museum when I was 10 years old in Washington, D.C. And I was still very, very young.
