But by, you know, '67, '68, he was really being very influenced by what was happening in, in LA and other, you know, parts of rock and roll, and really wanted to develop his own songwriting some more.

And, you know, famously brought, you know, Marrakesh Express to The Hollies, uh, as well as a song called Horses Through a Rainstorm, which was a Deja Vu outtake, and, um, wanted them to record those songs, and he was very proud of them.

And, uh, The Hollies did cut a version of Horses Through the Rainstorm, but it was not a priority for The Hollies.

And the Marrakesh Express, they thought it was kind of an oddball song, and they were kind of dismissive of him, and that was a big reason for him also wanting to leave the group.

You know, he just felt like he was tapping into, uh, his own creative well at that point, and really starting to discover himself as a songwriter.

And certainly being around all those people in LA that he was hanging out with, that very creative community that was...
