Absolutely.

And if I could just jump in and so one of the things we're doing now is we're fishing a striped Marlin over on the Pacific side.

And it is absolutely hunting.

And you're run and gun.

So I'm curious, just kind of on that same point too.

So obviously you're fishing in an ocean, huge body of water.

I know you mentioned targeting Marlin.

What do you, how do you know what you're targeting? Or is it more

was going to say, I was thinking back about Marlin here close to Dana Point.

Yeah, the 267, which is about eight miles from us.

Why? Just because you want to burn a bunch of fuel? I mean, I'm sure there's fish out there, but why?

You know, there was a video, I think I saw it yesterday from Newport sport fishing of the, uh, the blue Marlin that was hooked on one of their boats, uh, jumping, you know, kind of gray hounding and, uh, and you could clearly see there was land in the background.

I don't know if it was the mainland or if it was, uh, one of the islands, but it was, uh, certainly close enough.

And if it's close enough, even to an island, you don't have to go 60 miles offshore, um, You know, off the slide, there's been a lot of marlin out there in the traditional locations, 14 mile bank.

is just an amazing fish.

That is absolutely.

And then on the Pegasus, they got a 649 pound blue Marlin two days ago or three days ago.

Absolutely crazy.

Everyone's different, right? But for me, once I saw a blue marlin and what they're capable of doing and what they do, I was like, that's it.

That's all I want to see.

Dude, I have my Blue Marlin experience is limited to this story.

Like two different stories, but both times, like I was blown away by like how their savagery and their speed.

And the one was we were out in the Northeast Canyons here landing about a 30 pound yellowfin.

expecting to get a big eye bite, and I didn't get that, like, savage, you know, aerial show,

you know? But you're much more qualified than us.

What is it about the Blue Marlin that makes it, you know, that kind of gets you

So he said he checked the lanes for Wahoo, had a white Marlin smack-a-bally-hoo in the prop wash, but didn't stick.

No love from the Who.

Did find the Mahi action to be decent just south of the lanes on the gear.

We're even seeing some swordfish here too now.

Again, it's September, so that's when we should start to see all that.

The Ocean City Tuna Boat Fleet, Charter Boat Fleet, they've been hammering the White Marlins.

Restless Lady, Rochambeau, talking trash.

This was down by the 425.

This is a 649 pound blue Marlin that they caught.

Yeah.

They're catching bluefin.

They're catching everything on it.

Marlin, Wahoo.

everything on it but the funniest thing is they're catching the freaking bluefin and that was our best stop was on a triple jig strike with those things and uh you know we got our limits two day limits of bluefin off that one jig strike would have never sunk it i know i never when i ran the boat when i ran the prowler in san diego we never if we got a jig strike on a bluefin we just kept going because nothing came with it nothing came with it

mean, with those blue marlin out there, man, I might have to break out the 80 wides on that big marlin.

Marlin, you never know if a 500-pounder eats it.

They play havoc on a 50 or a 30.

He's like fishing in a gosh darn aquarium out of Oceanside, going down the coast.

He didn't get very far out.

Marlin everywhere.

And then I'm fishing with Paul in, in early October and Montauk again.

And then I'm going to, um, first week in November, Magdalena Bay for, uh, Stripe Marlin.

Wow.

So that makes a huge difference.

Is there going to be a book follow-up to this? I imagine there's already things stewing in your mind.

You mean the sequel? Sequel, the next book, maybe something happens during the Marlin.
