Marko Hietala

On May 25th, 2002, Nightwish released Century Child.

This album was the first to include the services of bassist and vocalist Marco Hietala, whose sung contributions really help to round out the band's sound.

It was also on this album that a shift away from power metal towards an ever-increasingly symphonic sound began.

Now John, it was on Century Child wherein Nightwish chose to cover the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber tune, Phantom of the Opera, Symphonic Metal meets Broadway.
