yeah penstemon especially some of the new cultivars like dark towers i see a lot of pollinator activity around them and i was especially thinking of some of those annual plants that we might have in a hanging basket because then that puts the hummingbird right at that right height right mark that you can see it and i think i don't know too much about hummingbirds uh behavior, but I think that three to six foot range off the ground is kind of what they like.

And I don't know if that's because going up higher takes more work or if it's they put some closer to those hawks or what that is, or if it's just more of the plants are a little bit lower.

One of our favorites, well, one of the hummingbirds' favorites, so one of our favorites to grow for the hummingbirds is actually an African violet relative in that same family.

The syningias, which are native down to the Southwest and into Mexico, but seem to grow really well for us.

I'm seeing it introduced more and more, and I think people also can overwinter those as a houseplant too.
