I don't want to speak for most Kentucky fans, but I think that most would say they're very grateful for what Mark Stoops did for this university for his tenure.

But by the end there, I think that a lot of people had grown tired of it.

There was kind of a feeling that it was going downhill.

And, you know, there's a lot of people who believe in Will Stein to do that, maybe on a more delayed basis, but to accomplish those same general type of turnarounds.

I mentioned basketball, and I grew up, like so many others, just following Kentucky basketball.

And we had Mark Stoops in here, and everybody, everyone knows what he hasn't done.

What is the feeling, as we wrap up, what he is capable of doing, or is he capable of

But this campus is pretty fired up.

And we talked to a reporter a couple weeks ago, said this is the biggest home game probably, I don't know, there were some pretty good years about 15 years ago, 10 years ago under Mark Stoops, but it feels different being on campus.

Roman Harper here, we have a cast, I don't want to say of thousands, but more like about 15, including the head football coach at the University of Kentucky, Will Stein, will join us, so will so many other people.

A week where very little football was discussed, let's get right to it.

They weren't expected to win at Ole Miss a couple years ago.

I mean, that was probably the most shocking win in the Mark Stoops era.

When Mark Stoops had a big game that the fans were excited about and we did this whole rigmarole where all week it was like, all right, we're four days away.

We're three days away.

And the fan base got excited and they did all the promotions and all that fun stuff.

So you got these surprising wins.

But you're right.

I mean, in the Mark Stoops era, you had, I think, of the Auburn game in 2015. that they lost.

Kentucky's run game has to get some dirty yards, has to get tough, hard-nosed, earned runs, okay? Alabama, you may have missed this, Nick.

They got embarrassed in the Rose Bowl.

But they built this team to be good on run defense.

And it's very much a Stoops style defense in just how they built it.

Like if Mark Stoops had his preferred defense, it would look a lot like this Alabama team.

Have one great edge rusher.

I mean, think about Kentucky.

They just now got rid of Mark Stoops.

No- because no matter what anybody was saying about getting rid of Mark Stoops, it took them a while to put the trigger on it, and then they bring in Will Stein.

By the way, Will Stein, now my favorite coach in the SEC.

Why is Will Stein my favorite coach in the SEC? Let me tell you.

Kentucky is always one that, you know, they rarely kind of get the upset.

Mark Stoops was steady, not great there for so long that it just kind of became, okay, you kind of knew what to expect.

And yes, Kentucky fans, they invented basketball, not football.

So maybe they can claim that.
