Tell us a little bit about yourself first and, and what made you decide to get into politics?

Well, I was a, uh, long-term educator in the North Dakota.

I worked in the, uh, Stanley, Minot, and then ended up in the Grand Forks School District.

And, um, one of the things that you experience in that kind of a role is certainly what is state government doing for education and beyond that as well.

And so I had a, an opportunity to work with legislators during my tenure in the Grand Forks School District, and I had a kind of a taste of what the legislative process was like.

And, uh, it, uh, provided an opportunity for me to, to reflect on, uh, trying that myself, uh, and, uh, that led me to, to, uh, put my hat in the ring and, and I was elected to the, uh, House of Representatives.

During that, uh, these years in the, uh, legislature, uh, I've been primarily on the budget committee, and it has been a interesting, uh, up and down road, so to speak.
